OK, the essential ingredients you need before even thinking of successfully requesting an autograph are: an address, and some knowledge about the person(s) in question.
That's obvious, you'd think.....but it's surprising the number of people that write to celebs without knowing anything about them: this is a mistake, since it is usually transparent; it is difficult to write about half a page to a page about a person you know nothing about.
